Always delicious! This place never disappoints for the best seafood in Vancouver.
I would go here all the time if I lived in Vancouver. The red lentil purée with the bread is a delightful accompaniment to the table when you are seated. They had so many different types of oysters. One reason I come here is because I love west coast raw oysters! I've never had anything here I didn't love. -

Had a great time grazing through the menu.
List of raw oysters was amazing - until you learn that they actually only have a few of the several dozen listed. Very odd, it's like saying "Here is a long list of wonderful oysters. We have several of these." But once that was sorted out and we pick 3 of what they had to make up a dozen, they were fresh, clean, and well presented, very tasty.
Next on to the raw bar. Tsunami was brilliant, I doubt I could ever come here and not get the Tsunami. Added several of the selection of nigiri. Score.
Next up, the seafood tasting for two, to sample a variety of small plates. Impeccably fresh tartare, ceviche, one served on a small bowl of tempura seaweed, pretty cool, and good flavor and crunch. Salmon terrine was amazing, a dozen or so ultra thin alternating layers of smoked salmon and cream cheese, beautiful presentation.
Took away a box of dark chocolate rochers, for a crunchy chocolatey bite in pajamas later.
Would not hesitate to recommend if you're looking for a variety of great seafood. -

There is a reason Blue Water is voted best seafood restaurant in Vancouver year over year. The service and quality are exceptional. Everything we ordered was amazing, from the quality and selection of the seafood tower to the artic char, pork cheeks, lobster roll and chicken. Their feature when we went was a Halibut, the portion size wasn't the greatest, especially compared to the other 6 entrees on the table. So just be cautious of ordering the feature, be sure to ask the portion size compared to another fish dish you're considering.

Expensive, but good quality fish. Great service but I feel these large menu, large restaurant locations don't usually have a very "specialty" or highly novel factor that draws you back.
Large open patio was also nice, but nothing really wowed me for the prices/novelty. ~$200CAD for two pre-tip.
WOULD GET AGAIN:
- mackerel aburi: Fresh smoky fish with a little sauce, scallions
- salmon terrine: layers of salmon with mousse in between and a light whipped dill cream sauce
WOULD NOT GET AGAIN:
- sablefish: Fresh but sauce was too sweet imo, standard "fusion" take with dashi broth
- sushi: wouldn't get the rolls again. Lobster roll was ok, omelet outer part was dry and odd. eel covered roll too sweet
- bread: free bread was ok
- panna cotta: ok but nothing special here and don't enjoy Yuzu in sweet items
TLDR: Fresh fish, great service though expensive. Would not recommend getting sushi here (except the aburi)
